We added more events, more variety, more new ideas this last year.

For the summer, we began with a new event called Reel Feedback. This in home program’s goal was to help each other revise or create their demo videos by receiving instant feedback from your peers.

The NSA BBQ was the most well attended in years. Look your creative, clever, crowd presenting Cuisine Commentary, Cutlery Critters and Creature Constructions.

The theme for 2008-2009 was “NOW!” This was a push to get efficient and get things done.Our new meeting format changed from a monologue to a dialog in the style of a news show or sesame street. Basically, integrating short segments with walk away value. Each meeting had at least ten of our NSA Community Members will be on stage. The mission of the President and board was the following: |

1) Make NSA Northwest a tight knit group
•Highlight people through marketing materials, website, emails
•Opportunities for individuals to be on stage
•Interactive meetings, meeting 10 people
•Host a variety of formats

2) Make NSA Northwest the ultimate resource to find experts. Increase visibility.

•Connect with orgs outside of NSA – Columbia Tower club

- Eliminated unnecessary services and saved money
- Retired outdated ineffeciencies with technology
- Created and documented processes via digital documents and videos
- Hired a technological administrator to learn, create, apply and maintain our new technologies
- Board Leadership software – Basecamp
- Standard Operating Procedures
- Eliminate snail mail and hard copies to digital, file sharing, audio communication, video
- Many thank you’s to Jill Dell (VP of Finance) who is responsible for helping us change banks, merchant accounts, eliminate snail mail and automate other items.

All of the ways we communicate through a 3rd party distribution software (Kickstartcart.com), Social networking (Ning), website (Wordpress.com), Twitter, Youtube.com and Facebook are industry standards. We use them because we want to keep current with our audiences. You can take a moment and learn them on your own, take classes or hire someone to teach you. Or you can watch the videos I created on our youtube channel and talk to your NSA colleagues “to get in the know.” We are here to support you, but this train is speeding up, so get on while you can and while it is complimentary.
